The Brambling is a close relative of the Chaffinch. It can be found
breeding in northern birch forests of Europe but usually spends its winters
in southern and central Europe including the UK, where it can often be found
in mixed flocks of seed eaters. In the USA and Canada the Brambling occurs
as a casual migrant.
