The Yellow-crowned Amazon Parrot also known as Yellow headed Amazon is commonly kept as a cage bird. The bird in this design is of the sub-species oratrix (there are 8 recognised sub-species) and is found in the wild in Mexico . The young of this species are entirely green not having any yellow or red feathers until they attain adult plumage.
